PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily provide two-screen display of two asynchronous input signals in an excellent way with a simple circuit configuration by using only the clock of one system. SOLUTION: A clock generating circuit 1 and a clock phase control circuit 2 generate a clock synchronized with a first video signal, A/D converters 3, 4 sample first and second video signals, a synchronization phase detection circuit 5 detects the phase difference between the clock and a synchronizing signal of the second video signal, a phase correction circuit 6 applies phase correction processing to the second video signal on the basis of the phase difference to obtain the excellent second video signal whose jitters or the like are corrected and writes the resultant signal in a frame memory 8. A switching signal generating circuit 7 generates a switching signal by using the synchronizing signal of the first video signal as a reference signal and a data changeover circuit 9 switches the first video signal and the second video signal read from the frame memory, thereby generating a 2-screen display signal.
