PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a folding knife which can be safely opened and is increased in durability by preventing a back metal spring part from damage. SOLUTION: In this folding knife, an shaft pin 3 of the supporting point is placed at the rear side from that of a conventional one to extend the length of a back metal spring part 9 and thicken the part 9, and further, a position of the back metal spring part tip end 17 can be placed higher than the shaft pin 3. As a result, when force to open the knife becomes over some extent, the back metal spring part tip end 17 starts rotary motion centering on the shaft pin 3, a load higher than required is not loaded on the back metal spring part tip end 17 to reduce metallic fatigue and to improve durability.
