PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a unit for generating a large-scale water vapor mass, capable of being used as one of elements for greening arid areas, such as deserts, by forming humid environment, and to provide a method for the same, capable of being used in greening by installing a plurality of the units. SOLUTION: The subject method comprises introducing sea water, or the like, into a pond to which a waterway is joined, covering the pond with a dome 3, and generating water vapor by utilizing temperature rise of the water in the dome. The generated water vapor is spouted out of the dome in a short time, when desired, by controlling the water vapor with an exhaust fan 33 and an opening and closing canopy 32 mounted on a ceiling.
