<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select a desired element with a little number of times of key inputs when selecting an element with key inputs on a screen where a BML file is displayed. <P>SOLUTION: In the information processing apparatus for displaying, on a display device, a file described in a markup language and including an element of first hierarchy level elements delimited by predetermined tags and second hierarchy level elements which belong to a range delimited by the predetermined tags, the information processing apparatus is equipped with functions of: receiving lateral arrow key-input and vertical arrow key-input signals (steps S104, S106, S108, S110), switching the selection between brother elements when the lateral arrow key-input signal is received or switching the selection between parentage elements when the vertical arrow key-input signal is received (steps S105, S107, S109, S111), and displaying that it is the selected element (step S102). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
