ENGINE WITH BALANCER SHAFT AND ITS ASSEMBLING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate mounting work by fixing a balancer shaft 4 in position when mounting a power transmission mechanism 10 in ends of a crankshaft 2 and a balancer shaft 4 on a drive side. SOLUTION: A protrusion 6 is formed in the balancer shaft 4 on the drive side so as to protrude the end of the balancer shaft 4 to the outside of the balancer housing 3. A residual part 8 for positioning is provided by notching a part of the protrusion 6 of the shaft 4. The residual part 8 is formed by being offset to one side from the shaft center of the balancer shaft 4. In the balancer housing 3, eaves 9 facing the residual part 8 of the balancer shaft 4 are formed with an offset. The power transmission mechanism 10 is mounted by fixing the residual part 8 with a tool 17 with the offset of the residual part 8 and eaves 9 being aligned. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
