PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quantum memory in which quantum information can be moved freely without interference from another memory cell between arbitrary two memory cells. SOLUTION: The quantum memory is provided with a plurality of memory cells in which one memory cell is formed of a physical system group in which quantum information is expressed in a quantum state of whole angular momentum, a means applying a magnetic field to each memory cell, a means irradiating each memory cell with light of right polarization or left polarization, a means irradiating simultaneously two memory cells out of the plurality of memory cells with one laser beam, and a means measuring a polarization of the laser beam transmitted through two memory cells, when arbitrary one preserved memory cell and a memory cell for shifting are selected, another memory cell does not exists on a straight line connecting the above selected memory cells.
