PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent the occurrence of unevenness in potential in a photoreceptor drum surface. SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 is provided with a static eliminator 57, which is provided in a cleaning part 56 in between a transfer belt 42 and the cleaning part 56, which are installed adjacent to each other in the periphery of an image carrier 51, and by which the image carrier after transferring is irradiated by light is provided. A sheet state shading member 58 restricting an optical path of irradiated light from the static eliminator 57 to the transfer belt 42 is attached to the cleaning part 56.
