PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera with which a magnification at the time of turning on a power source can be arbitrarily set by a photographer. SOLUTION: The camera is equipped with an imaging device, an optical lens, a lens barrel 1 for forming a subject image on the imaging device, an image storage means 35 for storing an image signal obtained from the imaging device, an electronic zoom means 37 for applying electronic zooming to the image signal read from the image storage means 35, an initial zoom position select button 32 for inputting an initial zoom magnification of the electronic zoom means 37 when turning on the power source, and a storage means 34 for storing the initial zoom magnification inputted from the initial zoom position select button 32.
