PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging unit that enables a user to comfortably photograph himself or herself through optical zooming with simple constitution. SOLUTION: On the front of a digital camera 10, a front display part 11 capable of displaying a photographic image and an opening part 12 of a photographic lens part which does not project from a casing 10 even in zooming using a refraction optical system are provided. On the back of the digital camera 1, a back display part 21 is provided which can display a photographic image. The user when photographing himself or herself with this digital camera 1 can easily confirm composition through the front display part 11 and the lens barrel of the photographic lens part does not project even in zooming, so that the display screen of the front display part 11 is never hidden behind the lens barrel.
