PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably fill ink to a cartridge in which a porous member is stored in a compressed state. SOLUTION: In a first step, an ink supply opening is formed, and the body is set upside down in a pallet. In a second step, a packing is inserted to the ink supply opening, and a sealing film is thermally welded to it. In a third step, the container main body is vertically flipped over and set again. In a fourth step, a filter member is fixedly secured. In a fifth step, the porous member is inserted to the body so as to be compressed. In a sixth step, a lid member is adhered to the body so as to form the container. In the lid member, an ink injection opening and an atmosphere communication opening are formed, and a narrow groove connected to the atmosphere communication opening is formed on the surface. In a seventh step, a predetermined amount of ink is injected to a foam chamber under reduced pressure. In an eighth step, a gas barrier film is adhered onto the surface of the lid.
