PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable anonymity authentication wherein a verify person cannot identify a user. SOLUTION: This electronic certificate management system which manages an electronic certificate for anonymity authentication which performs the authentication of the electronic certificate without offering user's attribute information is constituted of a service providing server 3 and a user instrument 2. The service providing server 3 forms T sheets (T is the natural number of multiples) of temporary digital signatures which guarantee the same content and are different from each other in response to a request from the user instrument 2, and transmits them to the user instrument 2. The user instrument 2 is equipped with a certificate storing means 26 which extracts T sheets of digital signatures from the temporary digital signatures received from the service providing server 3, acquires T sheets (T is the natural number of multiples) of electronic certificates which guarantee the same content and are different from each other and stores them in an IC card 20, and a certificate transmission means 27 which offers arbitrary one sheet of electronic certificate out of the T sheets of electronic certificates and urges authentication.
