PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength selective phase plate having excellent heat resistance by laminating a plurality of layers of alicyclic polyolefin resin films according to the color to be applied, and to provide a projection display apparatus using the wavelength selective phase plate. SOLUTION: The wavelength selective phase plates 16, 17 for G light and wavelength selective phase plates 18, 19 for R light are obtained by laminating a plurality of layers of alicyclic polyolefin resin films having birefringence given by stretching an alicyclic polyolefin resin according to the colors to be applied.
