PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve assemblability of a valve system for an engine and operability for disassembling a rocker shaft in service of the engine. SOLUTION: An intake valve and an exhaust valve opening and closing an intake port and an exhaust port opening on a combustion chamber 21 and formed on a cylinder head respectively are driven by a valve system cams 26a, 26b. Rock arms 33, 34 transmitting driving force of the valve system cams 26a, 26b to the intake valve and the exhaust valve are rockably installed on the rocker shaft 31. The rocker shaft 31 has a bolt type structure provided with an external screw part 37 threadedly connected to a threaded hole 35 formed on a rocker cover 32 composing a cylinder head 16, an arm support part 39 rockably supporting the rocker arms 33, 34, and a head part 38 engaging with a tool as one body.
