PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strong can opening for a packaging container having a high strength and capable of being covered with a cap smoothly without causing the cut face at its tip end to get into contact with content liquid. SOLUTION: This can opening for a packaging container is formed with a recessed catching part which extends toward an inside direction and sinks slightly downward from the end of a moderately arc shaped inclining part, a horizontal stage part which extends horizontally toward the inside direction from the end of the recessed catching part, an outward curl part which stands upward from the end of the horizontal stage part and moderately curls in an arc shape toward an outside direction, and a tip end bent part with the tip end of the outward curl part bent upward toward the inside direction. The tip end bent part of the outward curl part face comes into contact with and catches the recessed catching part.
