PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to take a high-resolution long length X-ray image easily. SOLUTION: In this X-ray imaging apparatus, at the time of long length X-ray imaging, while an X-ray tube 2 moves, fan beam X-ray FB is emitted in stop condition of FPD 3, and an incidence position of X-ray changes an X-ray detection surface 8 of the FPD 3 in the body axial direction X. In double speed moving condition of the FPD 3, X-ray FB, FPD 3 advances at the double speed and the incidence position of X-ray changes an X-ray detection surface 8 in the opposite direction. As a result, on the X-ray detection surface 8 of FPD 3, a position detecting X-ray changes successively without being fixed. Therefore, the situation is avoided where residual electric charge left is added to the X-ray detected signal as a noise. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
