<p>A continuous web of material (10), especially paper or cardboard, is wound on a reel spool (12) after being fed over a pope reel (16) which is at a winding distance (18) from the reel spool (12). On its way the web is guided by one or more elements (20) that are positioned diagonally to its path either on one or both sides of the web. The guiding elements (20) can be positioned cyclically and diagonally across the web path, thus causing the web to wind on the winding roll (12). The movement of the guiding elements (20) is electronically controlled (26) using the outputs of either a micro switch, pulse counter, linear distance measurer, or rotation angle sensor. An independent claim is also included for the winding machine.</p> |
