<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surgical instrument to be used together with a computer-assisted system so as to contribute to specifying a required position on an anatomical structure such as a bone and putting a linear mark on the structure. <P>SOLUTION: The surgical instrument 20 is structured to specify the position on the anatomical structure in cooperation with the computer-assisted guiding system. The surgical instrument 20 includes a grip part 22 and a positioning head 44. The positioning head 44 has at least one reference member 42 to be recorded in the computer-assisted guiding system, a reference structure disposed on the instrument, a substantially flat-shaped positioning surface 46, and a plurality of projections disposed along the end part of the positioning surface and extending parallel to the positioning surface and projecting outward.
