<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a field electron emission body capable of exposing a large number of carbon net ends to obtain more emission currents, and excellent in workability and productivity. <P>SOLUTION: In this field electron emission body, a large number of carbon fibers made by a vapor growth method, in which a large number of bottomless cup-shaped carbon net layers are laminated, and the end faces of the carbon net layers are exposed, are bound by carbon of a carbonized high polymer resin. Since in this carbon fiber having a herringbone structure, the cyclic end face of each carbon net layer is exposed to the outer surface of the carbon fiber, and all of the exposed ends function as electron emitting ends, a heavy emission current can be obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
