<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To respond to an operation on a touch panel precisely and quickly. <P>SOLUTION: In Step S1, each switch is switched to a state to measure a vertical coordinate of a pressed position. In Step S2, an electric potential input from one resistive film is AD-converted consecutively for the nth time. In Step S3, each switch is switched to a state to measure a horizontal coordinate of the pressed position. In Step S4, an electric potential input from the other resistive film is AD-converted consecutively for the nth time. In Step S5, whether the digitized electric potentials settle sufficiently or not is determined. If sufficient settling is determined, in Step S6, the vertical and horizontal coordinates are computed according to the digitized electric potentials. If insufficient settling is determined, in Step S8, the digitized electric potentials are discarded.
