PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve power conversion efficiency and attain small size and light-weight of a circuit as a switching power supply circuit with a power factor improving function. SOLUTION: A partial resonance voltage circuit is combined with a current resonance converter of a half-bridge coupling system at least at a primary side as a compound resonance converter. Voltage feedback of a switching output of the compound resonance converter to a rectified current path is carried out by a transformer (loose coupling transformer VFT) for improving a power factor, then a rectified current is interrupted by a rectifier diode, by which a conductive angle of an AC input current is expanded to improve the power factor. With such constitution, insertion of a choke coil to a commercial AC power supply line is not required as, for example, the power supply circuit with a power factor improving circuit.
