PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a key entry method for a touch panel in a POS system that can reduce entry errors and increase work efficiency by facilitating a check on a key operation, and can reliably announce an operation including an error or a critical problem. SOLUTION: A plurality of keys are each or a key group including a plurality of keys are preassigned a particular sound or message, and in response to a touch on a given key, the assigned particular sound or message is generated and output. Each error touch operation of predesignated keys is preassigned a particular sound or message, and in response to an error touch operation, the particular sound or message is generated and output. The error touch operations are classified into a plurality of levels of error significance, which are each preassigned a particular sound or message, and in response to the level of an error touch operation, the particular sound or message is generated and output.
