<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high dielectric constant system dielectric ceramic composition capable of attaining improved AC breakdown voltage without deteriorating the temperature characteristic of capacitance. <P>SOLUTION: The dielectric ceramic composition contains a main component expressed by a general formula, (Ba<SB>1-x</SB>Ca<SB>x</SB>)<SB>a</SB>(Ti<SB>1-y</SB>Zr<SB>y</SB>)O<SB>3</SB>(where, 0<x≤0.25, 0<y≤0.25 and 0.960≤a≤1.035) and assistant components of ≤5 pts.wt. Er compound (where, 0 pts.wt. is excluded) expressed in terms of Er<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, ≤2 pts.wt Mg compound (where, 0 pts.wt. is excluded) expressed in terms of MgO and ≤2.5 pts.wt.
