METHOD FOR SCREENING INHIBITOR TO FACTOR INVOLVING BACTERIAL CELL DIVISION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screening method simply and rapidly detecting an inhibitor based on a new action mechanism using a factor involving bacterial cell division as a target.

SOLUTION: The method for screening the inhibitor to the factor involving the bacterial cell division comprises using a transformer obtained by transforming a host cell having a lactose operon which is a low copy plasmid in which a lac Z gene and a lac UV 5 promotor are integrated and in which a lac Y gene is lost as an indicating bacterium and bringing the indicating bacterium into contact with a substance to be detected in order to determine whether an anucleate cell is formed or not.
