PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic tape which has sufficient adhesion between a support and a basecoat layer can prevent the magnetic layer from peeling and the head gap from clogging up while maintaining high traveling durability. SOLUTION: In the magnetic tape having at least a basecoat layer and a magnetic layer disposed on (1) a support, the total thickness thereof is 10μm or lower, and the adhesion between the support and the basecoat layer is 500 to 2000gf (4.9 to 19.6N) per 0.5 inch measured by a specific method. Because of the higher accuracy compared with a conventional measuring method, the magnetic tape of a high adhesion and high traveling durability is provided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
