PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide vapor deposition paper with counterfeit preventive measures taken which make counterfeit difficult and which increase no manufacturing cost and also to provide the manufacturing method, in vapor deposition paper applied with such a metallic vapor deposition thin film as used in a metalized label having metallic luster for example. SOLUTION: This is the vapor deposition paper 1 on which a metallic vapor deposition thin film layer 14 is formed at least on one side of vapor deposition base paper 10 through a vapor deposition filler layer 12 and on which the counterfeit preventive measures are taken using this vapor deposition filler layer 12 composed of a pattern part 12a and its background part 12b for the purpose of preventing counterfeit. The preventive measures are such that the thickness D1 of the pattern part 12a and the thickness D2 of the background part 12b are different from each other in constituting the vapor deposition filler layer 12.
