PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide photographic sensitive material which suppresses fogging due to an increase of the photographic sensitivity of a photographic emulsion while increasing the sensitivity and ensures little increase of fog even if stored at high temperature and high humidity or under severe conditions including exposure to noxious gases generated during combustion, such as automobile exhaust gas. SOLUTION: The silver halide emulsion contains at least one compound whose one-electron oxidized derivative produced by one electron oxidation of the compound is capable of further releasing one or more electrons with a bond cleavage reaction, wherein the compound is represented formula (1), wherein RED<SB>1</SB>represents a reducing group capable of being one-electron oxidized, concretely arylamino group or heterocyclic amino group; X<SB>1</SB>represents alkoxy group, aryloxy group, heterocyclic oxy group, alkylthio group, arylthio group, heterocyclic thio group, alkylamino group, arylamino group or heterocyclic amino group; L<SB>1</SB>represents H, carboxyl group or its salt; R<SB>1</SB>represents H or a substituent; and RED<SB>1</SB>, X<SB>1</SB>and R<SB>1</SB>may bond to each other to form a cyclic structure.
