PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device low in cost, excellent in operability and having a function of correcting a pixel value corresponding to a defective pixel. SOLUTION: As for image data inputted from an A/D conversion part 40, a 1st correction part 510 performs 1st defective pixel correction based upon information regarding a defective pixel stored in a defective pixel address storage part 512. When a 2nd correction part 520 is active, the 2nd correction part 520 performs 2nd defective pixel correction for correcting a corresponding pixel value by detecting the defective pixel according to an image signal inputted from the 1st correction part 510, but when the 2nd correction part 520 is inactive, the 2nd defective pixel correction is not performed. A switching part 530 switches the 2nd correction part 520 between the active and inactive states under control of a control part 100 according to photographic conditions of a photographic mode including a night scene mode, a shutter speed, etc. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
