PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state imaging device capable of effecting high-speed operation by reducing the parasitic capacity and the wiring resistance of a horizontal signal line. SOLUTION: The solid-state imaging device is provided with an image arraying unit for generating a pixel signal in accordance with incident light per pixel unit, a vertical transfer unit for reading out the pixel signal in the vertical direction of a pixel array, and a horizontal signal line for reading out the pixel signal by a vertical transfer unit in the horizontal direction. Especially, the wiring pattern of the horizontal signal line is formed by employing an uppermost layer or a metal layer for shadowing. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
