PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quiet magnetic resonance imaging apparatus suppressing the noise of a whole gantry to an extremely low level by extremely reducing solid-borne vibration from an inclined magnetic field coil and shutting off the air-borne vibration from the inclined magnetic field coil. SOLUTION: This magnetic resonance imaging apparatus is provided with the gantry equipped with a magnet 21 for generating a static magnetic field in an imaging region, leg bodies 22 supporting the magnet 21 on a floor F, the inclined magnetic field coil 23 generating the inclined magnetic field in the imaging region, support bodies 40A and 40B holding the coil 23 in a mechanically non-connected or an approximately non-connected state with the magnet 21 and supporting the coil 24 at another position on the floor F and an anchor 561 rigidly connecting the support bodies 40A and 40B to the floor F. This apparatus is also provided with means 24, 25A, 25B and 50 holding, at least, a part of the inclined magnetic field coil 23 and the support bodies 40A and 40B in a vacuum space.
