PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the service life of a rolling bearing for a vacuum pump and so forth used under severe conditions such as reduced pressure atmosphere, high-speed rotation, high temperature, and lubrication with fluorocarbon lubricating oil. SOLUTION: The size of the opening part of a pocket with weld line among the rolling element pockets of a retainer is set to 93% or more of a rolling element diameter, and the size of the opening parts of at least the other two or more pockets is set to 80 to 93% of the rolling element diameter. The retainer is formed of a PTFE resin material or a PPS resin material, or the pockets are chamfered on the inner and outer diameter sides and through holes are formed at the bottom parts of the pockets. As a result, cracking and brazing can be prevented from occurring at the bottom part of the pocket with weld line when rolling elements are assembled in the pockets while securely preventing the retainer from falling off so that wear powder is made hard to be produced in the retainer, lubricant is not deteriorated, dents are hard to be produced in a raceway surface, and lubricating performance can be increased.
