PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball screw device in which rotation stop and release of a nut member with respect to a screw shaft are smoothly and lightly performed, and the entire device is as thin as possible in the radial direction, and miniaturized. SOLUTION: The ball screw device comprises a nut member 5 having a screw groove 5a continuous to the inner circumference, a screw shaft 6 having a screw groove 6a which is concentrically formed in an inner portion of the nut member 5 and forms a closed loop in an outer circumference, and a plurality of balls 7 interposed rollingly between the screw grooves 5a and 6a of the nut member 5 and the screw shaft 6. An engagement part (a projecting part 13) to the side of the nut member 5 is provided on non-forming areas 6c and 6d of the screw groove 6a, and an engaged part (a projecting part 14) which is engaged with the engagement part in the rotational direction to stop the rotation of the nut member 5 with respect to the screw shaft 6 is provided on the nut member 5.
