<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an NOx adsorbing device and an NOx purifying system for adsorbing and desorbing NOx by using discharge. <P>SOLUTION: Respective adsorbing parts 12 and 13 are used by either of an adsorbing mode or a desorbing mode. In the adsorbing mode, only an upstream side earth electrode 32 is grounded, and the discharge is generated in an upstream side discharge division DCA1. The NOx oxidized by the discharge is adsorbed by an adsorbent 24 of a downstream side discharge division DCA2. In the desorbing mode, the discharge is generated in both of the respective discharge divisions DCA1 and DCA2. The desorbed NOx is reduced by recirculating in a combustion chamber of an engine together with desorbed gas (outside air or exhaust gas). The adsorbing function and the discharge function are built in the respective adsorbing parts 12 and 13, and since a discharge generating part can be switched according to a use mode, a structure of the whole device can be simplified and compactly formed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
