PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To clamp a package IC of a testing object even when its outline dimension is different when clamping the package IC from both sides thereof. SOLUTION: This handler has a storage part for storing the package IC, and a pair of holding means opposed to each other in both sides of the storage part to clamp the package IC. Each of the holding means has an elastic member having a plate shape and connected tightly to a housing to be energized into U-shape, a driving part for moving vertically one end part of the elastic member from the housing, the other end part for expanded and contracted following the vertical motion of the one end part of the elastic member, and presser parts advancing/retracting horizontally following the expansion and contraction of the other end part, each of the holding means is released from the housing when pulling up the one end part of the elastic member from the driving part, the other end part is reduced in energization to be opened, and the pressor parts advanced each other to clamp the package IC from its both side within the storage part, while contacting elastically therewith.
