PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tracer generating device which prevents a tracer from adhering to the inside wall of a model, and also prevents the tracer from leaking to the outside of a system and diffusing. SOLUTION: The tracer generating device has a casing (1) equipped with a freely-openable-and-closable lid (1a), an incense stick setting means (e.g. an incense stick stand 2 for a household Buddhist alter or the like which has ash inside and can make incense sticks stand easily) arranged inside the casing (1), an air supply line (3) for supplying taking air (A) into the casing (1), a flow-out line (4) which is connected to the model (M) for the tracer to flow in and causes a mixture (AS) of the air (A) and the tracer (smoke S of the incense sticks) to pass through, and a flow control means (e.g. a combination of a mass flow controller 5 attached to the supply line 3 and a mass flow meter 6 attached to the flow-out line 4) which controls the mass flow rates of the taking air (A) and the tracer (S).
