A solar energy system comprising a solar panel 17; first and second supports (73, fig 40) mounted on respectively first and second mutually inclined surfaces of a building, eg adjoining walls or the faces of a pitched roof; and solar panel transport means 54-56 extending between the first and second supports and carrying said solar panel 17 such that in use the solar panel 17 can move from a first position adjacent the first building surface to a second position adjacent the second building surface. Electrical coupling means are provided at each end of the panel's path, and each end of the panel has means for connecting to the coupling means enabling the stored electricity to be collected. The direction faced by the solar panel can be adjusted as the sun moves by taking readings from a sensor, moving at a preset time or by commands sent via the internet. |
