A motorised wheelchair comprises a chair 6 mounted on a motorised wheeled stem 5, the stem 5 being adapted to elongate and compress. The wheelchair comprises an adjustable back rest 13, means of 360 degree rotation, adjustable feet rest 8, padded detachable arm rests 12 and head rest 15, a motor 10 and motor control means 7. At the base of the stem 5, four motorised wheels 11 are typically provided. The control means 7, which may be detachable, can steer the wheelchair and adjust the chair 6, back rest 13 and feet rest 8 to various angles, heights and positions. An adjustable holder may be provided on each side of the back of the chair to accommodate articles such as drip stands, umbrellas and detachable handles. The chair may be used indoors, outdoors, in hospitals or for recreational purposes. |
