<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a position shift correction pattern which makes it possible to detect color slurring with high precision through simple constitution while suppressing a rise in the cost of a device. <P>SOLUTION: A pattern formed by putting a reference pattern which has a plurality lines formed at a specified pitch with a black toner of a reference color and a correction object color pattern of a color toner comprising of a plurality of lines at the same pitch with the reference pattern one over the other is regarded as one patch and a patch group is formed by forming a plurality of patches, which are shifted in relative position relation with the lines by an arbitrary quantity in the pitch direction of the lines successively in a read direction of a detection sensor; and the black toner of the reference color has a final color to be put over a transfer body. Then a pattern in which the correction object color pattern is completely superposed on the reference pattern or completely shifts is regarded as a reference patch PA and a patch group is formed by arranging a plurality of patches for the reference patch PA successively in the read direction of the sensor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
