PURPOSE:To provide the subject composition useful for a perfume cosmetic and a food and drink, having a fresh and mold fragrance, providing a green and floral aroma with high preference and permanence, comprising a phenylacetaldehyde Oalkyloxime as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:This composition comprises preferably 0.05-15wt.% of a phenylacetaldehyde O-alkyl oxime of the formula (R is a 1-6C alkyl) (e.g. phenylacetaldehyde O-methyloxime) as an active ingredient. The compound of the formula, for example, is obtained by adding an aqueous solution of an alkali while stirring phenylacetaldehyde and an aqueous solution of an 0- alkylhydroxylamine mineral acid salt under cooling while stirring to carry out the reaction. The compound of the formula is blended with a well-known perfume substance component, e.g. a purified oil of a citrus fruit such as orange or a natural purified oil such as a lavender oil to prepare a new perfume composition. |
