The machine has two motor driven rollers which draw it along the lightning protection wire of transmission pylons. At the same time a cable, which is to be supported on the protection wire, is drawn off from a cable drum carried on the machine. To secure the cable to the protection wire a tape is drawn through a spinner so that it winds round the cable and lashes it to the protection wire. The process is automatic and radio controlled. |
