PURPOSE: A hinge apparatus for a door is provided to rotatably mount the door and to shut the door by the force of the hinge apparatus when the external force is removed while the door is opened. CONSTITUTION: A hinge apparatus for a door comprises a cylinder body(10) having a cylinder(11); a hinge shaft(20) arranged through the inside of the cylinder body in a pivotable state; a vane(30) longitudinally arranged to the outer peripheral surface of the hinge shaft; and a partitioning member(40) arranged inside the cylinder body. The cylinder body is mounted to one of a doorframe and the door. The end of the hinge shaft is mounted to the other one of the doorframe and the door. The vane divides the inner space of the cylinder into a first gas chamber and a second gas chamber while the edge of the vane has friction with the inner wall of the cylinder. The inside(42) of the partitioning member comes in contact with the outer peripheral surface of the hinge shaft to intercept the communication of the first and second gas chambers. Nitrogen gas or helium gas is compressed and filled in the first and second gas chambers to make the first gas chamber and the second gas chamber maintain the same pressure while the door is closed.
