A drive (46) operates the dough processing unit (37). A feeder (36) transfers dough portions (35) from the portioning unit (5, 23-27) to the processing unit, which is followed by dough removal equipment (69). The drive includes components. The first component (40) turns the drum (38) about its longitudinal axis. The second component (58, 59) turns the outer drum (41) about its longitudinal axis. A third component (58, 59) periodically moves the outer drum relative to the inner drum, along their common axes (38, 41). A further drive unit (50) derives input for the third component, from the shaft (49) driving the other two. Relative longitudinal movements of the drums are adjustable. An eccentric provides the third motion. The eccentricity is varied to control the oscillating stroke. The eccentric coupling mechanism and its adjustment are detailed.
