Operating component for a remote control (17) has input elements (37, 40) and a first transmission element (47) for controlling a remote terminal. The component also has a card reader (41), especially a cash card reader. The component can also incorporate a mobile phone network connection. Independent claims are also included for the following:- (a) a multimedia arrangement for online commerce and; (b) a method for carrying out online commerce using an inventive remote control.
