PURPOSE: A data transmission method of a digital still camera system is provided to assign serial numbers to each image, and to add or delete the images only corresponding to the serial numbers when the images are changed, thereby reducing a transmission time. CONSTITUTION: A digital still camera changes photographed pictures into small images, assigns serial numbers to the changed images, counts the number of the images, and then transmits the images to a PC. If an image is added, the camera selectively transmits the added image only to the PC. If data is transmitted from a digital still camera, the PC displays the data on a monitor. If a specific image is deleted or a new image is added, the PC deletes an image corresponding to a serial number of the specific image on the monitor or displays the added image on the monitor.
