METHOD, DEVICE, AND USER INTERFACE FOR MANAGING E-MAILS AND ALERT MESSAGES RECEIVED FROM OTHER SOURCES

PURPOSE: A method, a device, and a user interface for managing e-mails and alarm messages received from other sources are provided to enable a user to easily manage other sources requesting the alert messages and control rules applied to the e-mails. CONSTITUTION: A request client(42) operates a web browser application(26) and an e-mail client application(24). The web browser application stores cookies to a cookie repository(27) by responding to the request from a web server application(30) and stores an alert source list(32) respectively discriminating reception of the alert message. The request client is connected to a request source computer(34) through the network(18) and operates the web server application for responding to the request for more than one web site(36). The web site provides a teamwork or cooperated work feature enabling the user to request alert message notification for transmitting the alert message to the user when a document or a calendar is changed, or other event is generated.
