PURPOSE: A method for controlling amplifiers to save power is provided to control amplifiers in order to control a transmission power to a mobile communication terminal from a base station having the at least more than two amplifiers, thereby extending a life of the amplifiers by reducing electric/thermal loads. CONSTITUTION: Various parameters are set(400). A system decides whether a set sleep mode is a manual mode(405). If so, the system inputs operating/standby commands and operating/standby PAU(Power Amplifier Unit) IDs(410). The system decides whether the set mode is a forcible mode(420). If not, the system decides whether an operator's command is in standby state or in operation state(425). If the command is in the standby state, the system calculates the number of requested amplifiers(430). The system decides whether the number of amplifiers to be operated is bigger than the number of the requested amplifiers(435). If so, the system operates the requested amplifiers(440), and completes the procedure(470). |
