QUICK HANDOVER METHOD IN MOBILE IP NETWORK

PURPOSE: A quick handover method in a mobile IP network is provided to reduce a handover time by a previous registration while a wireless terminal moves to a new network from a mobile IP environment, thereby preventing packet loss. CONSTITUTION: If a mobile node(MN) moves to an overlapping area(B) of an access router(AR2) and an access router(AR3) from an area(A) of the access router(AR2), the mobile node(MN) receives a BA(Binding Advertisement) message(1). The mobile node(MN) transmits a PBU(Pre-registration Binding Update) message to the access router(AR3)(2). The access router(AR3) transmits the PBU message to a cache agent(CA6)(3). The cache agent(CA6) transmits a BA(Binding Acknowledge) message to the access router(AR3)(4). The access router(AR3) re-transmits the BA message to the mobile node(MN) to inform the mobile node(MN) that a pre-registration is completed(5). If the mobile node(MN) moves to an area(C) of the access router(AR3), the mobile node(MN) transmits a BU(Binding Update) message to the access router(AR3)(6). The access router(AR3) transmits the BU message to the cache agent(CA6)(7).
