PURPOSE: A method for changing a font in a mobile communication terminal is provided to compress all font sets to store the compressed font sets in a memory, and to release a compressed state of a font set selected by a user, thereby reducing a usage rate of an ROM. CONSTITUTION: If a user selects an environment setup menu on a menu item of a mobile communication terminal(S200), a controller displays the environment setup menu on an LCD screen(S202). The user selects a font setup function on a screen setup menu item to set a specific font(S204). The controller displays the font setup menu on the LCD screen(S206). If the specific font is selected(S208), the controller releases a compressed state of a corresponding font set stored in an ROM(S210). The controller stores the released font set in a font set area of an RAM(S212). The controller displays a message informing the user that the corresponding font is stored.
