The device has a flat support unit with a coating application side delimited by a smoothing edge (3) and a prehensile side equipped with a handle (9). A reel (4) is situated on an edge of the support unit opposite to the smoothing edge to wind/unwind an adhesive roll (6). A projection unit projects the coating on each side of the adhesive roll. A guidance unit guides the roll from the reel up to the smoothing edge.
