The invention consists of a three component composition producing an aqueous organic peroxide emulsion with the exclusion of surfactants which acts as radical initiator for polymerisation or copolymerization of ethylenically unsaturated monomers. The aqueous liquid emulsion comprises (1) 45 - 65 % wt. of a hydroxyperoxyester; (2) 2 - 25 % of one or more anti-gel agents from MeOH, EtOH, ethylene glycol, isopropanol, n-propanol, propane-1,2-diol, propane 1,3-diol, glycerol, butan-1-ol, butan-2-ol, butan-1,3-diol and butan-1,4-diol; (3) 0.01 - 10 % of a colloid protective agent from partially hydrolysed polyvinyl alcohols, polyvinyl acetates and cellulose derivatives; (4) the remainder being water to 100 %. Independent claims are also included for the preparation and use of the compositions. |
