<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic component supply tape with which the stabilization of pickup operation and the facilitation of storage operation of electronic components can be made compatible, and to provide an electronic component supply method. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic component P is stored in a rectangular recessed part 7b for storing component, which is formed in a base tape 7a manufactured by a paper material having a character that the tape is contracted through a moisture absorption process. The base tape 7a is humidified so as to absorb moisture and contraction deformation is caused in the recessed part 7b. The electronic component is supplied to an electronic component mounting device in a state where a position holding face 7f is displaced to an inner side of the recessed part. The electronic component can be picked up in the state where a gap between the electronic component P and the position holding face 7f is contracted.
